
Andrew T. Karron

Mr. Karron has served as UMAEF’s General Counsel since 2001.
In this role, he is responsible for all aspects of corporate governance matters, including maintaining up-to-date corporate registration, articles of incorporation and bylaws, conflict of interest policies, preparation of Board meeting resolutions, serving as Recording Secretary for Board meetings, and preparation of minutes. Mr. Karron advises on UMAEF’s authorized activities under Delaware law, the Fund’s Grant Agreement, and other applicable federal and state laws. Additionally, he assists with compliance regarding federal tax reporting requirements and relevant federal and state regulations.
Prior to his appointment as Senior Vice-President and Outside General Counsel he was Law Clerk for Hon. Harold H. Greene at the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia; Associate at Hughes Hubbard & Reed (D.C. Office); associate and partner (1995-2015) at Arnold & Porter LLP focusing on trial and appellate litigation, including complex financial disputes, corporate fiduciary issues, securities and bank regulatory investigations, professional liability cases across various industries, and Constitutional litigation; and Founding and Managing Partner and now Founding Partner Emeritus of Reisman Karron Greene LLP (2015-present) — a boutique firm specializing in the settlement of complex class actions and mass torts, serving as court-appointed special masters and settlement counsel for private clients.
He is a member of New York, District of Columbia, Supreme Court and other federal court bars, practicing since 1985.
He graduated from Harvard College, majoring in Social Studies (a selective honors concentration focusing on economics, social theory, and public policy), and earned a J.D. degree from New York University School of Law.
