Oleksii Marchenko

Oleksii Marchenko joined UMAEF as a Senior Investment Associate in June 2026.

Prior to that, Oleksii spent four years with Horizon Capital from 2015 to 2019, progressing from Investment Analyst to Associate and building a strong foundation in private equity.

Oleksii supports the UMAEF SME Direct Investments (u.capital) program, a strategic initiative aimed at driving the growth and resilience of SMEs in Ukraine and Moldova through direct investments. In his role, Oleksii is actively contributing to the Ukraine-based team while also supporting deal origination and execution in Moldova.

Since his time at Horizon Capital, Oleksii has gained valuable operational, strategic, and academic experience. Most recently, he served as a Lecturer in Finance at Kyiv School of Economics, teaching Financial Accounting, Corporate Finance, and Business Valuation, while mentoring students through the CFA Institute Research Challenge. Earlier, he held operational and strategic roles at Preply and Uber Eats, where he led cost optimization initiatives, supported M&A activities, developed strategic partnerships, and managed operational improvement projects. Prior to Horizon Capital, he started his career at Deloitte in Transaction Support, focusing on financial due diligence, valuation, and market research projects.

Oleksii holds an MA in Financial Economics from Kyiv School of Economics, completed in partnership with the University of Houston, as well as a BA in Finance from the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy.
