Ukraine House Davos 2025 Opens Its Doors!

Ukraine House opened its doors today with an inspiring speech from Executive Director Ulyana Khromyak in which she spoke powerfully about the future of Ukraine.

First however, a striking siren note was played out, after which she noted that she, like so many Ukrainians, has lived through this perilous sound and an almost constant bombardment for almost four years but that the entire nation has remained resilient and resolute.

In stark terms, she laid out what was at stake for Ukraine and showcased the extraordinary opportunity it represented to global security and prosperity, emphasizing how vital it was that Ukraine “secured a just and sustainable peace”.

She highlighted Ukraine’s $26tn natural resources including $12tn rare earth minerals like lithium and cobalt, critical to global tech and innovation sectors.

Despite the war, she declared that investment continued to flow into the country, noting in particular last year’s $1.5bn Datagroup-Volia/Lifecell telecoms sector deal, recognized as the “deal of the decade”.

The time is now to support and invest in Ukraine, especially with the expected $1tn rebuilding effort representing the most significant business opportunity for global companies in over 75 years.

This stirring speech was followed by an appropriately inauguration-focused panel, ‘Aligning Interests: The US, Ukraine and a Path to a Just and Sustainable Peace’, where we heard from key US policy voices advocating for ongoing US support of a free and secure Ukraine. They also advanced a united and powerful argument that US support is a strategic investment in global security and prosperity, benefiting the US, Europe, Ukraine and the entire international community.

The House heard insights from speakers Ambassador Kurt Volker (Founder and President of Alliance Strategic Advisors), Andy Hunder (President, American Chamber of Commerce Ukraine), Rear Admiral Michael Hewitt (Co-Founder and CEO, IP3), and Dora Chomiak (CEO, Razom for Ukraine).

The panel, moderated by Daniel Runde (Senior Vice-President, CSIS), praised the role the US had played in supporting Ukraine, with Andy Hunder highlighting in particular how “American business had had a significant role here as well”. Ambassador Volker emphasized that the new Trump administration was determined to end the war and that “Ukraine wants peace and Russia is the one preventing peace”.

As the panel concluded, the inauguration of President Donald Trump was about to begin in Washington D.C.

The House was the place to be for an extremely well-attended inauguration watch party rounded off by a packed networking event, in cooperation with American Chamber of Commerce Ukraine, focused on the U.S.-Ukraine partnership, to cap off an exciting first day at the House.

Ukraine House Davos is organized by UMAEF, Victor Pinchuk Foundation, and Horizon Capital and led by Executive Director Ulyana Khromyak.
