FAQ
Can a newly established social enterprise get a loan?
No, it can’t. According to the requirements of the partner banks, the company must be registered for at least 6 months and be PROFITABLE to be able to service the loan.
To provide financial support to social enterprise startups, UMAEF co-founded the Ukrainian Social Venture Fund.
How long does an enterprise have to meet the above criteria to be able to get an affordable loan?
Impact Investment Program specialists ask for supporting documents on the fulfillment of the social goal for the last 6 (SIX) months of the enterprise’s activity. For example, when employing representatives of vulnerable groups, you must provide a set of documents for each such employee to show they belong to a certain vulnerable category of the population (ID, certificate, etc.) and the period of employment (employer’s order to put a person on the staff, etc.)
What documents should be submitted to the Program in addition to the application form?
Usually, in addition to the application form and the cash flow table (in MS Exel), the following documents must be submitted:
- Registration papers of a legal entity or sole proprietorship (Registration Certificate, Charter (if available), extract from the EDRPOU or statistics certificate)
- Financial statements of the company for the last 12 months (but at least for 6 months)
- Documents that specify the social purpose of the enterprise and the distribution of profits (Minutes of the general meeting, Cooperation Agreement, etc.)
- Papers confirming the fulfillment of the social purpose
- Photos of production facilities, workflow, equipment, etc.
- Copies of awards, certificates, letters of commendation, diplomas, etc. confirming the fulfillment of the social goal.
