Director, Innovation and Entrepreneurship

Anton Waschuk is a director at the Ukraine-Moldova American Enterprise Fund (UMAEF), a U.S. government-backed regional fund with $285 million in capital deployed across Ukraine and Moldova. Since joining in 2015, he has led the organization’s innovation, entrepreneurship, and education mandate — overseeing a portfolio spanning early-stage venture development, SME financing, workforce development, and leadership formation.

Anton architected and drives UMAEF’s venture-building initiatives, including Mission Possible — a flagship program developed in partnership with Saïd Business School at the University of Oxford and LIFT99 Kyiv Hub, connecting Ukrainian founders from early-stage to scale-up. His work at the policy level has contributed to Ukraine’s tech sector development, euro-alignment reform agenda, and economic migration strategy.

Beyond direct programming, Anton serves on the founding board of Endeavor Ukraine — the local chapter of the global high-impact entrepreneur network — alongside board positions at Junior Achievement Ukraine and Teach For Ukraine, organizations advancing entrepreneurial and educational opportunity at the grassroots level.

Anton holds a Master of Science from the London School of Economics and an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from McMaster University. His executive and professional credentials include the CFA Institute Private Equity Certificate; the Stanford Leadership Academy for Development (public policy for private sector development, Stanford CDDRL); and the Board Direction Program in Corporate Governance — a comprehensive director certification co-designed by INSEAD Corporate Governance Centre and the Ukrainian Corporate Governance Academy. Additional accreditations span Integrated Business Studies and Leadership and Management in the Non-Profit Sector.
