Moldova’s TUTO AI Reaches Global Technovation Girls Finals as Europe’s Only Senior Finalist

A team of young innovators from Moldova has achieved one of the country’s strongest international accomplishments in youth technology entrepreneurship. TUTO AI, the winner of Technovation Girls Moldova 2026, has been named a Senior Finalist in the global Technovation Girls competition, becoming the only team from Europe to advance to the final stage in the Senior division.
Selected from more than 3,600 projects submitted from over 100 countries, TUTO AI is among just 15 finalist teams worldwide across the Beginner, Junior, and Senior divisions. In October, the team will represent Moldova at the Technovation World Summit in Bengaluru, India, where they will present their solution to an international jury alongside the world’s top young innovators.
The team’s project, TUTO AI, is an AI-powered learning companion designed for students in Moldova. Rather than simply providing answers, the application encourages critical thinking by using the Socratic method to guide students through questions, helping them strengthen reasoning and independent problem-solving skills.
In Moldova, Technovation Girls is implemented by GLIA Impact Hub with the support of the Ukraine-Moldova American Enterprise Fund (UMAEF) and other partners. Through its support of the Future Tech Leaders initiative, UMAEF helps equip young women with practical skills in artificial intelligence, coding, entrepreneurship, design thinking, and leadership, preparing them for careers in STEM and innovation.
The 2026 program achieved strong nationwide engagement, attracting more than 650 applicants, with 60% of participants coming from outside Chișinău. A total of 26 teams, representing 107 girls, submitted projects to the global competition, supported by approximately 200 hours of mentorship provided by industry professionals.
Beyond developing technical expertise, the program empowers participants to identify real-world challenges, build technology-driven solutions, collaborate effectively, and cultivate entrepreneurial mindsets—skills that are increasingly critical to Moldova’s innovation-driven economy.
TUTO AI’s achievement highlights the impact of investing in young talent and expanding access to high-quality education, mentorship, and international opportunities. Their journey from a national program in Moldova to the global finals of one of the world’s leading youth technology competitions underscores the country’s growing potential as a hub for innovation and future tech leadership.
