Ukraine: National Pavilion at BIOFACH 2025 – Common Support by Four International Projects

On 11 – 14 February 2025, the organic community will again meet in Nuremberg (Germany) at the World’s Leading Trade Fair for Organic Food BIOFACH 2025. Regional, national and international stakeholders from the entire organic value chain, as well as representatives of public authorities, service providers, and NGOs will gather here to explore market opportunities, trade organic products, network, and consolidate their joint vision for a more sustainable future.

25 Ukrainian exporters will exhibit their organic products in hall 4 A stand 625 as a part of the National Pavilion of Ukraine at the World’s Leading Trade Fair for Organic Food BIOFACH 2025.

The National Pavilion of Ukraine at BIOFACH 2025 is organized by the Ukrainian Berries Association and the State Institution “Entrepreneurship and Export Promotion Office” (EEPO, Ukraine), the national project Diia.Business, under the patronage of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, and with the financial and technical support of:

“We are delighted that our support will help so many organic exporters from Ukraine to present their organic products at BIOFACH this year”, note the representatives of the four international projects.

Bringing Ukrainian exporters to BIOFACH is essential for promoting sustainable trade and creating more and better jobs by strengthening the business competitiveness and capacities of Ukrainian SMEs in the organic sector. In 2023, Ukraine exported 173,720 tons of organic goods with a total value of almost 129 million USD and became the fifth largest exporting country to the EU. Therefore, the stability of the European organic market strongly depends on the reliability and strength of Ukrainian suppliers.

Ukrainian organic products are certified according to the EU Organic Regulation and some other international organic standards. Since 2023, the Ukrainian organic legislation has been fully implemented, more than 260 organic operators are already certified according to the Ukrainian Organic Law, and many organic products labeled with Ukraine’s organic logo are already available on the market. The alignment of Ukrainian organic legislation to the relevant EU Regulation is the main objective for 2025.

This year, as in the previous 14 years, the Ukrainian policy delegation, consisting of the representatives of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine and the State Service of Ukraine of Food Safety and Consumer Protection, will participate in BIOFACH with the objective to present Ukraine at the international level, participate in working meetings and build long-term partnerships with policy makers from other countries, international organizations, and organic stakeholders, thus promoting the organic export from Ukraine.

Every year, there will be a high-profile event in Ukraine as part of the Organic Trade Congress with a focus on organic trade from Ukraine. The event will take place on Wednesday, 12 February 2025 at 14h00 in room Shanghai.
