Second Edition of Mini MBA Program Launches to Strengthen Moldova’s Next Generation of Business Leaders

The second edition of the Mini MBA program officially launched on March 19, continuing its mission to equip entrepreneurs, executives, and professionals in Moldova with the knowledge and leadership skills needed to succeed in a rapidly evolving business environment. For the second consecutive year, the program is supported by UMAEF, reflecting its commitment to strengthening entrepreneurship and business leadership in Moldova.
Implemented by Startup Moldova in partnership with the Academy of Economic Studies of Moldova (ASEM) and Chișinău Business School, the Mini MBA builds on the success of its inaugural cohort, where 60 founders, executives, and professionals from startups, SMEs, and academia successfully completed the program.
The opening session was led by Vasile Tofan, Senior Partner at Horizon Capital, who introduced participants to the program’s practice-oriented approach through interactive discussions based on real business challenges. Throughout the five-month program, participants will engage in intensive case studies, collaborative learning, and practical exercises designed to strengthen decision-making, strategic thinking, and leadership capabilities.
Built around the Harvard Business School case method, the Mini MBA encourages participants to analyze complex business situations, evaluate strategic alternatives, and defend their decisions in a collaborative learning environment. Rather than focusing solely on theory, the program emphasizes practical problem-solving and peer-to-peer learning, preparing participants to lead organizations through growth and change.
“Lifelong learning is one of the most important skills. Equally important is the opportunity to connect, learn from one another, and test ideas in real time—this is what truly shapes strong leaders,” said Stella Jemna, Country Representative for Moldova at UMAEF.
Over the course of 10 intensive sessions, participants will explore topics including market strategy, financial decision-making, artificial intelligence, digital transformation, leadership, and corporate governance. Each module is delivered by experienced business practitioners and international experts, providing participants with practical insights that can be applied directly to their organizations.
Upon successful completion, participants receive a fully accredited diploma and 10 transferable ECTS credits, further reinforcing the program’s role in advancing executive education and strengthening Moldova’s entrepreneurial and business ecosystem.
